2007 Riesling

This, our first Riesling under the Northburn label, is made in a medium style (24gm sugar) for easy every-day drinking. It is crisp and fresh with mineral notes and flavours of granny smith apple and stone fruit. Now with 3 years in the bottle it has developed a delightful honeyed richness. While very easy to drink by itself this is a very food friendly wine that will match a wide range of dishes.

Tasting Notes

Winemaker’s Notes: “Clean ripe grapes were harvested over two days in mid-April 2007. The juice was fermented slowly at low temperatures to ensure good mouth feel as well as clean, fresh flavours. The crisp acid is balanced with the slightly elevated sugar and as a result neither is dominant. As well as drinking well now as a refreshing summer wine, it should continue to develop in the bottle for many years.”
